Using the app
Tecotype is a desktop email app that connects your computer directly to Gmail or your IMAP/SMTP provider. You are responsible for the messages you send and mailbox changes you make.
When using Gmail through Tecotype, you must comply with applicable law and the Google APIs Terms of Service.
Subscription
A subscription lets you install and use Tecotype during your paid subscription period. Including Danish VAT, the price is €123.75 per year (€99 before VAT) or €12.50 per month (€10 before VAT). The total with applicable tax is shown before you pay.
You pay when your chosen month or year of access starts. Your subscription renews and is charged automatically each month or year, depending on your plan, unless you cancel or it ends under these Terms.
If a renewal payment fails, we will email you and give you seven days from that email to resolve it before pausing paid access. Access resumes when payment succeeds.
Protecting the service
You must not commit payment fraud, attempt unauthorized access to, or deliberately disrupt our website or licensing service. If you breach this rule, we may suspend or end paid access. We will explain the problem and give you a reasonable chance to resolve it first.
We may suspend access immediately to stop ongoing fraud or an attack and will promptly explain why. We will restore suspended access when the problem is resolved, provided your subscription has not ended.
Cancellation
You can turn off automatic renewal at any time and keep access until your paid period ends. Turning off renewal alone does not trigger a refund.
For yearly plans covered by Danish consumer law, you can also end your subscription before the paid year is over. After the first five months, you can cancel with one month’s notice. The subscription ends on the last day of the calendar month in which that notice expires. You can give notice earlier; the notice period then starts after the first five months. Renewal does not restart the five-month period.
If you end your yearly subscription this way, we promptly refund the unused part of your annual payment.
When paid access ends
When your subscription ends or paid access is paused, sending and syncing stop. You can still read downloaded messages. Ending or pausing paid access does not delete your local mail or files.
Refunds
Request a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase, even if you have used the app. We refund you promptly and within 14 days of your request using the original payment method. Your paid license and automatic renewal end when we issue this refund.
After those 14 days, we offer refunds only where consumer law requires them, including for early termination as described above. For consumer purchases, the Danish Sale of Goods Act’s rules on defects apply.

Providers and updates
Sending and syncing need an internet connection and a working email provider. Your provider’s terms continue to apply. Installed releases check for and download updates automatically. The app shows “restart to update” when a downloaded update is ready to install.
Changes to prices and terms
We will only charge a higher subscription price if you accept it. We will email you the proposed price and renewal date at least 30 days before that renewal, explaining how to accept and that your subscription will end on that date if you do not accept by then.
If you do not accept, your subscription will not renew at that date. You keep access through the period you have paid for. Updating these Terms on our website does not change your existing subscription agreement.
Liability for business purchases
If you buy Tecotype mainly for your trade or business, our total liability for damages is limited to €99 for all events in each subscription year, counted from your subscription’s start date and each anniversary. This includes claims about software bugs, delayed or missed notifications, and lost data.
We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, or other indirect losses from business purchases.
These limits do not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or liability that cannot legally be limited. Refunds and price reductions are separate and do not count toward the €99 cap.
Complaints
If we cannot resolve a complaint about a consumer purchase, you can ask Mæglingsteamet for Forbrugerklager at Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark, to mediate if your complaint meets its eligibility rules.

Governing law
Danish law governs these Terms. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections provided by the law of the country where you live.
